Players Prepare For National Snooker Knockout Stage

With the conclusion of the group stage of the 2011 United States National Snooker Championship, the qualified players are now preparing themselves for the knockout stage of the event which commences tomorrow at the Prince Snooker Club in Brooklyn, New York.

All of the four qualifying players from the four groups have advanced into predetermined positions into the Round Of 16 draw.

The defending champion Ahmed Aly Elsayed, who won Group A, will play against the fourth placed player in Group D, Ka Lai Cheung, while the 2000 Champion and winner of Group B, Ajeya Prabhakar, will take on Pravin Patel from Texas who qualified from fourth place in Group C.

Winner of Group C, Henry Wong, will face the fourth placed player of Group B, Bo Ye, who is making his first appearance in the Championship, and the Group D winner, Yan Y. Zhen, has set up a tie with Tommy Chen, the proprietor of the Prince Snooker Club, who booked his spot in the Round Of 16 by securing fourth place in Group A.

The Round Of 16 matches are over the best-of-five frames, with matches K1-K4 commencing at 1pm local time (10am PT/USA) and matches K5-K8 commencing at 3pm local time (12pm PT/USA).
