Rhett Has Gone With The Irish Snooker Way

United States snooker player Rhett McCreless has traveled to Ireland for a two-day intensive snooker training camp for his preparation to compete later this month in the United States National Snooker Championship.

For McCreless it will be his first appearance in a United States National Snooker Championship, so the 31-year-old from Huntsville, Alabama, decided to cross the Atlantic to take part in a training camp conducted by the Irish national snooker coach, P.J. Nolan.
The venue for the camp was the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club located in Carlow, with each day's training commencing at 10am and finishing at 5pm.
During the camp P.J., who is also an official World Snooker coach, focused on improving his cue action technique which included the pause and delivery of the cue, in addition to cue-ball control, break building and long potting.
McCreless was video recorded in each session and returned home with DVDs of his lessons to study. You can watch some of his training exercises online by clicking on the following link:

McCreless was very impressed with the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club and with the quality of the training, he praised P.J. on his coaching techniques and cannot wait to return for another camp in the near future.
The 2012 United States National Snooker Championship will take place at the Embassy Billiards Club in San Gabriel, California, from May 25-27.
