Fung made to fight hard for opening Tour season win

The two-time United States National Snooker Championship runner-up Raymond Fung has won the season's opening event of the 2015-16 United States Snooker Association (USSA) Tour, sponsored by Aramith Billiard Balls, Sterling Gaming and the Tweeten Fibre Co., which took place over this past weekend at the New Top 147 Snooker Club in Brooklyn, New York.
Fung is the most successful player competing on the USSA Tour, and he continued his remarkable string of victories by coming through a full-field of players in this single-elimination event at the recently opened host club.
Fung's progress to the final was very straightforward for the lost of only one frame in these best-of-five frames matches, but he was given a much sterner test in the final against Raymond Cheung.

In stark contrast however, Cheung's passage to the final was much more difficult, as in the quarterfinals and semifnals he scraped through 3-2 against Gary Cheung and Xing Xing Chow respectively and so would have been battle-hardened for the final against Fung.
It was Fung though who came through a final tussle 3-2 to get his Tour season campaign off to the perfect start.
