Zafar pockets his first Tour title at Prince Snooker Club

The Prince Snooker Club in Brooklyn, New York, has played host to Event 2 of the 2015-16 United States Snooker Association (USSA) Tour, sponsored by Aramith Billiard Balls, Sterling Gaming and the Tweeten Fibre Co., which resulted in a first Tour title for Ali Zafar this past weekend.
It was the first of two events to be contested on this season's Tour at the host of this year's United States National Snooker Championship back in May, and Zafar proved to be somewhat of a surprise winner after his 3-1 defeat of Leo Liang in the final.
In a full-field of players, Zafar completed a routine 3-0 win over Kashif Rashid to secure his passage through the round of 16, but then had tight 3-2 victories over Wilan and Jonathan Royalty in the quaterfinals and semifinals respectively.

Liang caused a major upset on his way to the final as he scored a semifinal defeat of the favorite and Tour event 1 winner Raymond Fung 3-2.
