Prabhakar continues winning progress in Doha
filed on Sunday, November 19, 2017.   12:24pm PT/USA

Ajeya Prabhakar chalked up his second win in Group H of the Men's Event on the second day's play of the 2017 International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships at the Al-Arabi Sports Complex in Doha, Qatar.

Prabhakar however found himself 3-2 behind to Enes Bakirci in these race-to-four frames group matches, but the Californian has proven in the past to be steely competitor when his back is against the wall.

The twice former United States National Snooker Champion produced breaks of 54 and 52 win the final two frames of the match respectively to defeat the 21-year-old from Turkey 4-3.

Prabhakar will also be in action tomorrow, November 20, and will take on Iran's Siyavosh Mozayani in his third Group H match at 4pm local time (5am Pacific Time / 8am Eastern Time in the United States).

Ahmed Aly Elsayed bounced back from an initial Group F defeat to easily brush aside Emad Seif, as the three-time former United States National Snooker Champion fired in a break of 70 along the way to defeating the 39-year-old from Yemen 4-0.

Aly's third Group F match will be against the talented Polish player Mateusz Baranowski tomorrow, November 20, at 10am local time (11pm Pacific Time / 2am Eastern Time in the United States).

Omar Balsara, on his debut representing the United States in international snooker competition, again performed outstandingly well in his second Group C match this time against Amir Sarkosh who is a highly talented player and a former Asian 6-Reds Snooker Champion.

After going 2-0 behind to the Iranian, Balsara then hit back to win three high-scoring frames for a 3-2 advantage and an incredible victory looked on the cards.

Unfortunately though it was not to be as Sarkosh's experince shone through and he decisively secured the final two frames for a narrow 4-3 victory over the American.

Balsara has a free day from competition tomorrow, but will return for his third Group C match on November 21 when he will take on home player Bashar Abdulmajeed at 10am local time (11pm Pacific Time / 2am Eastern Time in the United States).
