2022 United States National Snooker Championship - Ox Billiards. September 2 - 5

Raymond Fung remains the only former champion and seeded player to make it to the semifinals of the 2022 United States National Snooker Championship at Ox Billiards in Seattle.

For the fourth Championship in succession Fung has had to face Yoo in the knockout stage, and while the player from Seattle defeated the New Yorker in the 2019 quarterfinals on his way to the final, Fung got the better of Yoo in the 2018 quarterfinals and last year in the round of 16.

After cruising to a 3-0 victory last year, by contrast this year's encounter was epic as number two seed Fung eventually defeated the number four seed 4-3.

Fung will take on Jacky Wei in the semifinals and the Californian has been a revelation in this Championship, defeating the defending champion Ahmed Aly Elsayed in their Group A tie and now knocking out last year's quarterfinalist Arif Mahmood in this year's quarterfinals 4-2.

Dharma Hemnani has sailed through this Championship to book his place in the semifinals for the loss of just one frame in the group stage. The player from New Jersey came through the round of 16 with a 3-0 success, and has now secured his first appearance in a Championship semifinal after a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of California's John Poon.

In the semifinals Hemnani will take on Steven Wong, who last played in this Championship back in 2019 when he was defeated in the quarterfinals, as he came through a monumental battle against his good friend Romil Azemat.

Azemat had that fantastic win against the defending champion in the previous round and so his confidence would have been on a high that he could go all the way, but he fell right back to Earth as Wong forged to a final frame 4-3 success.
