After the cancellation of the 2020 United States National Snooker Championship due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the United States Snooker Association (USSA) is pleased to announce that the 2021 Championship will be staged at the prestigious New York Athletic Club (NYAC) from October 14 - 17.
It had been announced last year that the NYAC wished to host the 2020 Championship in their beautiful billiard room overlooking Central Park, however once the event had been canceled the NYAC very kindly informed the USSA that they would be willing to hold the Championship in 2021 once it is deemed safe to do so.
Alan Morris, the Executive Director of the USSA, commented: "The USSA Board is delighted that the United States National Snooker Championship is back this year, and our sincerest gratitude goes to the NYAC for their continued support.
"We know that there is so much enthusiasm from snooker players all across the United States to get back to competitive play after such a long break, and to be back at the NYAC which is such a tremendous and unique venue to play the sport, it will prove to be a fantastic and memorable Championship for all the players to be at."
The last time the Championship was played at the NYAC back in 2017 it was a truly remarkable event, which saw Brooklyn player Raymond Fung win his first United States National Snooker Championship title after a stunning 5-4 victory over Ahmed Aly Elsayed in the final.
Aly, who is the billiard manager at the NYAC, will be there to defend the title he won back in 2019 in Houston, Texas, and he will be going for a record sixth Championship title victory.
Next month the USSA will publish the Entry Document, and players may then enter the Championship using the official online entry form system.
