Prabhakar progresses in IBSF World Snooker

Ajeya Prabhakar has finished in second place to progress out of his Group in the Men's Event of the 2022 International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championships at the Sueno Hotels Beach Side from November 4 - 17.
The twice former United States National Snooker Champion played Shachar Ruberg in his first Group Y match, a player he defeated in the group phase in the 2019 Championships, however the 28-year-old Israeli came out on top on this occasion to win a very comfortable tie 3-0.
Prabhakar however then went onto gain a 3-1 victory over Switzerland's Alain Vergère, and to beat Romania's Tudor Chitu 3-2 to advance out of the group and set up a round of 48 knockout tie against Iran's Ali Roshanikiya, who won Group X with three straight wins.

The reigning the United States National Snooker Champion, Steven Wong, found the going tough in his first two Group C matches, as the Californian lost 3-0 respectively to both Antonis Poullos from Cyprus and Muhammad Sajjad from Pakistan.
Although Wong has failed to advance from his Group, he did win his final match 3-1 against home player Kivanç Karahan.
Prabhakar will face Roshanikya on November 9 at 10am local time (11pm PT Monday, November 8), and will also compete in the Masters' Event of these Championships which commences on Friday.
