The United States Snooker Association (USSA) regrets to announce that the 2024 United States National Snooker Championship, which was to be hosted at Q Billiards in Houston, Texas, from May 24 - 27, has been canceled.
After informing the USSA, Mr. Syed Hassan, the proprietor of Q Billiards, wrote on their Facebook page: "The decision has been made in light of inflation and rising costs, which have made it financially unfeasible to proceed with the event at this time.
"We understand the disappointment this may cause, and we share in your frustration."
Alan Morris, the Executive Director of the USSA, said: "Of course it is very disappointing to have to cancel the Championship at this late stage, and I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to all the players who had already entered and made arrangements for their trip to Houston.
"The Board of the USSA is however in early consultation for staging the Championship later this year, and news of a new date and host will be released in due course."
