The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) and the Pan American Billiards and Snooker Association (PABSA) have announced this expansion which will see four events taking place across North and South America.

The top ranked player at the conclusion of the final event will qualify for the WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs, where three professional World Snooker Tour (WST) two-year tour cards will be on offer.

Back in March, Brazilian former professional Igor Figueiredo secured the title in Event 1 of this series to take an early lead in the ranking list.

Event 2 will take place at the Arizona Snooker Academy in Chandler, Arizona, from December 13-15, which is the home club of the reigning United States National Snooker Champion, Daren Taylor.

The series will then move onto Event 3 at The Corner Bank in Toronto, Canada, from January 17-19, with Event 4 being played at a host to be confirmed in Brazil.

Jason Ferguson, the Chairman of the WPBSA, said: "We are delighted to announce the expansion of the WPBSA Q Tour Americas series to incorporate events in both North and South America.

"The growth of the WPBSA Q Tour Global across the world is something that we are incredibly passionate about as we look to provide equal opportunities globally for aspiring snooker champions.

"I would like to thank PABSA for their support with the series and wish every competitor the best of luck as they pursue their dream of joining the World Snooker Tour."

Ajeya Prabhakar, the President of PABSA, said: ""We are excited to once again join forces with the WPBSA to expand the Q Tour Americas series to four events this year, up from the two we ran last season.

"The sport is thriving in our region, with many larger clubs opening up.

"With two events in North America and two in Brazil, we're looking forward to reaching even more players across our vast continent and showcasing their talent."
