The world ranked 21 player in the world was cueing smoothly to cruise into a 4-0 advantage assisted with breaks of 68, 102, 59 and 90, but Aly managed to pinch the fifth frame on the final black after the mid-session interval.
Aly also had his chances in the following frame but the 2022 Shoot-Out Champion sealed it to claim a 5-1 victory.
Aly's next match on the World Snooker Tour will be back in Leicester on July 29, when he again has been drawn to play Vafaei in qualifying for the 2024 Wuhan Open.
