Vafaei repeats Aly defeat

Hossein Vafaei has inflicted his second win in four days over Ahmed Aly Elsayed, after defeating the American this time in qualifying for the 2024 Wuhan Open in Leicester, England.

Playing for the opportunity to compete in the main event to be held in Wuhan, China, from October 6-12 Vafaei would have been confident after his 5-1 success in qualifying for the Xi'an Grand Prix, and the 2022 Shoot-Out Champion again cruised to a 5-0 victory.
Aly had his chances, particularly in the third, fourth and fifth frames, but could not capitalize on the chances his Iranian opponent presented him with (Match scoresheet).
Aly will again be back in World Snooker Tour action on August 1 in Leicester, England, when he takes on the Ukrainian player Anton Kazakov in qualifying for the 2024 British Open.
