The inaugural Colorado Snooker Open came to an exciting conclusion as Seattle's Dave Daly defeated home player Mark Wilson in the final to lift the title at the Wreck Room Underground in Westminster, Colorado.
Daly took his opportunity in the first frame to go 1-0 up after a brief safety exchange which left Wilson chasing for most of the frame.
Frame two started much the same way though went down to the final pink ball and subsequently a 2-0 advantage to Daly.
An initial 20+ break by Wilson in the third frame put the pressure on Daly, and he responded well by constructing a run of 21 from only utilizing the yellow and green with reds to impressively accumulate the points. However, with only the blue, pink and black remaining on the table, Wilson held his nerve to knock in a long blue, which left a relatively straight pink into a center pocket to claw back a frame and make it 2-1.
Daly restored his two-frame advantage by winning frame four in its latter stage and after a few scares along the way, though his greater snooker experience in comparison to Wilson helped him wrap up the match after sealing the fifth frame for a well-deserved 4-1 victory.
Along with his $1,000 first prize, Daly took the Colorado Snooker Open trophy and a bottle of Two Drams blended whiskey, kindly sponsored by Breckenridge Distillery, back home to Seattle with him.
Colorado Snooker would also like to extend its gratitude to all the sponsors of the 2025 Colorado Snooker Open: Rick Amico of Amico Inc. financial consulting, Lionheart Electrical, Wreck Room Underground, A26 Projects and Design, Tweeten Fibre Company and Breckenridge Distillery.
